About our officials
Bringing you the best to boost the sport!
I was privileged to grow up conditioning horses, rehabbing and conditioning racehorses, and remaking chase horses to the hunt field. I competed a bit in endurance, eventing, dressage, racing and steeplechase. I am a graduate A pony clubber and actively participated in that instruction program, was a national examiner, sat on the instruction Council and did strategic research for the organization. I’ve been a USEF dressage and eventing technical delegate for nearly 50 years.
By education and training I’m a scientist and experimental psychologist and I run a research company (for now 45 years). I was principal investigator for the USEA Equine Exercise Physiology Study which was part of the team whose research efforts kept the horse sports in the Olympic games.
Our challenge is to develop the sport skill sets, riding skills, and horse preparation necessary to do the sport of eventing. The necessary grassroots experience of peer-to-peer learning, team building and camaraderie, and a shared community with deep horse knowledge accompanied by has to be integrated with vast resource available to us. Taking on the challenge of fitting the board horse into our busy 21st century lives in a way that services the needs of horse and rider is exactly why I will be at the X Games as an official.
The X Games are a perfect introduction to the sport, particularly for those of us where our horses do not live in the backyard. My goal is to push the skill sets and knowledge necessary for preparation of a horse at any level competition into focus. And to make development of that knowledge base a fun collaborative team effort. My goal is to have all who reach the competition understand where they are relative to their personal conditioning and training so that the competition is a test of progress as well as a place to achieve a ribbon if performance warrants it.

Deeda Randle
name
Deeda Randle literally grew up riding in the mountains in Northwest Wyoming; trail riding, working cattle, jumping, playing polo, and going on pack trips. Her love of dressage and eventing started when she attended Meredith Manor School of Horsemanship in 1974.
Since that time, Deeda has been active in promoting both sport and education in dressage and eventing. Deeda was involved with the Mountain States Combined Training Association, prior to Area IX being formed, as an officer and active member. In those early days, many members helped build courses, lend show jumps, organized, and competed in an effort to have competitions to ride in.
Deeda’s volunteer work continued after the formation of Area IX. She has served as Area IX Chairman on two different occasions for a total of seven years. Deeda has managed FEI Events at The Colorado Horse Park as well as several smaller shows. She currently is the manager of a dressage show in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Deeda holds licenses as an Eventing (r) Judge and TD and Dressage (R) TD and FEI Steward. Deeda currently resides in Cheyenne, Wyoming where she owns and operates Randle Equestrian LLC. Randle Equestrian LLC is a small, custom lesson and training business with the focus being on equitation, correct basics, and fun in the competition world.
